CYCLE 8 AG - CYCLE 8 AG, based in Baar, Switzerland, was founded in March 2019 and has since served as a holding and operating company for the development and operation of the CYCLE 8 System, the CYCLE 8 Marketplace and the CYCLE 8 APP. In addition to the management, the shareholders of CYCLE 8 AG are entrepreneurial families from the areas of production, trade and retail as well as waste disposal and recycling.

C8 Trade GmbH, based in Wentorf near Hamburg in Germany, was founded in November 2020 as a 100% subsidiary of CYCLE 8 AG and has since served as a trading and all-round service provider for leftover goods.
For an easy entry and direct use of the CYCLE 8 System & Marketplace or also in the long term, if brand manufacturers and retailers do not want to market and export their leftover goods themselves, C8 Trade GmbH offers theses partners and customers to buy their leftover goods at market prices and to process and provide the goods transactions completely via the C8 Marketplace including all documentation, analyses & with full transparency via the C8 system.
The CYCLE 8 Group focuses on the circular economy. All our activities are aimed at legal compliance, economic efficiency and resource saving (sustainability). In this context, one of the key areas of our services is the recycling of consumer goods that are not sold - as planned - i.e. goods that are left over: - Surplus goods - goods that are not sold at all - Remaining goods - goods that are offered in shops but not sold. - Returned goods - Goods that are sold but are returned by the customer. - Take Back Goods - Used goods that are no longer used by the customer and are returned.
No offerings in the leftover goods segment provide transparency, efficiency, legal compliance, or even sustainability. Our task is to offer a solution for this.
The shareholders and founders of CYCLE 8 AG realised years ago that the common way of dealing with our resources, especially in the consumer goods sector, is no longer acceptable. Neither the non-transparent and uncontrolled recycling of "leftover goods" nor the direct destruction or dumping of reusable goods are sustainable solutions for trade, or even for our planet. The CYCLE 8 system and CYCLE 8 Marketplace aim to maximise the reuse of these surplus, leftover and returned goods, so that traders and manufacturers do not suffer any harm in their active markets and can significantly increase not only sales but also your contribution to our planet and a healthier environment. Thanks to our automated and user-friendly processes, it is easy for all market participants to participate.
Our versatile and innovative team of circularity specialists consists of industrial, consumer goods, textile, legal, financial experts, data analysts, digital marketplace and IT experts as well as retail professionals and business executives.
Our online system documents all steps of the re-use and recycling process from the collection and provision of the goods by the sellers (retailers and brand manufacturers) to the sale and re-use in markets in which the sellers of the goods themselves are not active (so-called "secondary markets"). All documents, pictures and analyses that arise in the course of such a process are digitised and made available to the seller in a directly traceable way.
On "your" marketplace you can integrate your own existing buyers as well as invite new buyers and partners: The optimal buyers of your leftover goods are those who sell them in their own shops in markets such as the Middle East, Africa or South America. By bringing together and negotiating directly with buyers to be approved by you, we give you full control and stable and best prices for your leftover goods.
As brand protection and discretion are of particular importance in the sale of leftover goods, we coordinate all essential issues with you in advance.
In order to complete the circle of a reasonable sale and re-use and recycling of goods (Circular Economy), topics such as take-back systems and suitable recycling methods are of particular importance in addition to maximum reuse. Ideally, information from our system about products and their raw materials can be used more and more for recycling and input into new products. The possibilities of real recycling (up-cycling) usually start at the manufacturing and product design stage, where CYCLE 8 in cooperation with EPEA (c2c) can already advise you.
The standard sale of leftover goods is characterised by a lack of transparency. However, transparency is becoming increasingly relevant both politically and socially. EU and national authorities are currently in exploratory talks with the trade and other "distributors" and are planning to enforce and control the already existing legal responsibility of producers, importers and the trade in the future (e.g. transparent register). Customers and society want a sustainable approach to the goods they buy.

The value and the prices of the goods depend on the brand background, the category of goods, the quality of the goods as well as the requirements for the trade (e.g., sales markets approved by you). We can send you concrete conditions at any time after receiving the relevant information and an assessment of the goods (if necessary, also as picture material by email). On request, you will receive the CYCLE 8 quality matrix in advance for your information, on the basis of which we would also systematically evaluate and price your goods.

Any time a seller and a buyer come to an agreement a transport request is sent to all potential forwarders automatically.

It is often necessary for sellers to get their goods processed and prepared first via sorting, de-labeling, new-labeling or other services before offering to secondary markets.
If such services are needed, a request for proposal is published on the CYCLE 8 marketplace.
